《再描画の説明（Redraw description）》
・リングの半径や幅を改めて考慮した結果、遠くに立ち上るリングの見え方が間違っていると気付いた為、下記の様に描き直しました。
リングの幅は160万kmであり、太陽系の太陽の直径139万2000kmと近い(地球の直径1万2756kmの100倍ほど)。
リングの半径は1.5億kmであり、地球の公転半径1.496億kmとほぼ同じ。
これらを考慮すると次の様になる。
まず、立ち上るリングの幅は、地平線では見かけ上の無限である。そして地平線から30°見上げた高さ辺りで、地球上で見る太陽と同じ位の幅まで急に細くなっていく。そこから徐々に細くなりながら上に立ち上がっていく。天頂で地球上で見る太陽の半分まで細くなっていく様に見える筈である。

リングの公転軌道を中心である恒星を中心に60°で6分割する。その一つの天頂に恒星がある正三角形に着目する。天頂の恒星までの距離と地平線から30°の高さのリングまでの距離が正三角形の2辺となり、その距離は等しい。よって地平線から30°の高さのリングの幅は恒星の見かけの大きさとほぼ同じである。
・リング内側の縞模様はリングの中心にある恒星の近くに設置されている20枚のシャドースクエアの影である。シャドースクエアはリングの自転よりやや速く回転しており、リング内側に昼夜を造り出している。
・After re-considering the radius and width of the ring, I realized that the ring rising in the distance looked wrong, so I redrew it as shown below.
The ring is 1.6 million km wide, which is close to the 1,392,000 km diameter of the Sun in our solar system (about 100 times the diameter of the Earth, which is 12,756 km).
The radius of the ring is 150 million km, which is almost the same as the radius of the earth’s orbit of 149.6 billion km.
Considering these factors, it should appear as follows.
First, the width of the rising ring is apparently infinite at the horizon. Then, at a height of 30 degrees above the horizon, it abruptly narrows to about the same width as the sun seen on earth. From there it rises upward, gradually becoming thinner. At zenith, it should appear to narrow to half the size of the sun seen on earth.

Let’s divide the orbit of the ring into 6 segments at 60° around the center of the ring, the fixed star. Focus on an equilateral triangle with a fixed star at the zenith of one of them. The distance to the fixed star at the zenith and the distance to the ring at 30° above the horizon are equal by the two sides of an equilateral triangle. Therefore, the width of the ring at a height of 30° from the horizon is approximately the same as the apparent size of the fixed star.
・The stripes inside the ring are the shadows of 20 shadow squares placed near the fixed star at the center of the ring. The shadow squares are rotating slightly faster than the ring’s rotation, creating day and night inside the ring.

《このアートワークを描いた理由（Reason for drawing this artwork）》
私が20歳の頃、当時、大好きだったSF小説｢リングワールド(ラリイ ニーヴン作)｣。
その限りない広大な世界を絵にしたくて、当時、使い始めたばかりのアクリル絵具で描いたものです。
広大なリングの内側に造られた世界の、立ち上る遠くに見えるリングと、その根本の水平線の無い無限に続く大地を描きたくて描きました。
When I was a 20 year old, I loved SF novel “Ring World (by Larry Niven)”.
A vast world to want to draw, at that time, is what drew in acrylic paints are just beginning to use.
Inside of the vast ring world. And a ring that looks to the distant rising. I wanted to draw the infinite world of non horizontal line.
